I joined the Chat Now team as a responder in 2020 and I love it! It's a great opportunity to help our members and newcomers find meeting information and give them relevant leaflets that may help them. You can choose to do anything from 1 hour a week. I have convenient set shifts that I chose from the rota and I can cover vacant shifts when I have spare time too! It's enriched my sobriety and I've enjoyed being part of a helpful team. I'm so glad I took the opportunity to get involved in this service!

ALCOHOL AWARENESS WEEK. 15th to 21st November 2021

The BC & WF Intergroup will be teaming up with local radio station “Black Country Extra “during the above national initiative. The idea is to raise the awareness of Alcoholism, what AA has to offer and hopefully attract the still suffering alcoholic into the fellowship.

During the above week we intend to broadcast a one hour programme every day on which some of our members will share their experience, strength and hope together with a few of their favourite songs.

In order to get the ball rolling we have already recorded two one hour programmes, the first of which will be broadcast on Monday 20th September at 6.00pm and the second on Monday 4th October at 6.00pm.
Once broadcast these programmes will be available on podcasts which can then be featured here on our local website as well as You Tube, Twitter etc.

This station is currently available online only but with a pending DAB license.
This is a very exciting development for us, so, can I please ask that you share this information within your groups, spread the word as much as possible, download the App and listen in live on the day.

A very rewarding way to do service, a great opportunity to share your

experience, strength & hope and help other alcoholics achieve sobriety

A member of our local fellowship repainted the famous AA image of The Man On The Bed (Alcoholic No'3), the painting is shown in the images here. The back of the painting was signed by members from AA meetings in the Black Country & Wyre Forest area.

The painting is now displayed in the Wilson House, East Dorset, Vermont USA.

The artist has given us his permission to display this wonderful contribution to our fellowship here on our website

Thank you Mitch F
